What is cosmetic teeth whitening?
In cosmetic teeth whitening, a whitening gel is applied to the teeth and activated with light. This can visibly reduce surface stains, for example from coffee, tea or smoking. Basma only uses products that are permitted for use outside a dental practice.
How much lighter your teeth become depends on your natural tooth colour and the type of staining. Basma discusses with you beforehand what is realistic.
Who is teeth whitening suitable for?
For adults with healthy teeth and gums. You should avoid it, for example, during pregnancy and breastfeeding, or if you have tooth decay, gum inflammation or exposed tooth roots. Crowns and fillings do not whiten.
Depending on diet and habits, the result usually lasts several months.

How long does the result of teeth whitening last?
Usually several months, depending on diet and habits. If you drink a lot of coffee, tea or red wine, or smoke, you will need a refresh sooner.
Can teeth whitening cause sensitive teeth or gum irritation?
Your teeth may be a little more sensitive temporarily. The gums are protected during the treatment. If your teeth are already sensitive, please mention it beforehand.
